Lily Fegan
Lily started with us in March 2019 as an apprentice, studying Business Administration Level 3. She has settled in well as part of the team and really got stuck into her role. Initially focused on recruitment, Lily also helps with the screening and vetting of our guards, keeping the various social media channels up-to-date and liaising on a daily basis with guards and clients, both by email and phone. She is now also responsible for building customer relations and organising jobs.
Speaking following her recent appointment, Alan Lingwood, Director, said: “We have a history of promoting from within at Lingwood Security Management, so it's great to see a new face arriving as an Apprentice, with high hopes for the future about where her career at this company can take her. Best of luck in your first few weeks Lily.”
About Lily
We asked Lily a few questions as part of her induction process. Here is what she said:
How did you first get involved with Lingwood Security Management?
I was working full time after sixth form and wanted to go back into education, but I like being in the workplace, so I thought an apprenticeship would be a good route to take. I looked at courses with the college and chose Business Admin. This was new to me, but I wanted to try it and see if it would be a possible career route to follow. The college secured me a couple of interviews and Lingwood Security was the route I wanted to take.
What was your first impression of Lingwood Security Management?
My first impression of Lingwood Security was great, I loved that it was family orientated. I love to work hard and think if you want something you have to put the work in for it, they gave me this impression from the start. They were also friendly and helpful.
What's your first memory of working at Lingwood Security Management?
I remember Lorette helping with my training a lot to begin with such as the correct way to answer the phones, call out and the jargon of my emails.
What has surprised you most about working at Lingwood Security Management?
Although I knew this was going to be a great opportunity, I never would have thought I would enjoy working in the security industry. It has opened my eyes on a lot of different opportunities and routes I can take within the company. I am very happy I did my apprenticeship with them as they have helped my confidence to grow a lot.
What do you find most challenging about your work?
My confidence in believing I can do something! I am getting there; I have grown so much in a year with them. I feel the attitude towards a lot of things is we can always resolve a problem and to have a positive attitude towards work.
What's the best/worst thing to happen since you started working at Lingwood Security Management?
Best thing would be to have passed my course & be continuing with the company!
I can’t say there has been anything bad.
If you could change one thing about Lingwood Security Management what would it be?
Again, nothing I would wish to change, just constant improvement in places we need it so the business can grow to its best!
What do you wish other people knew about Lingwood Security Management?
What a great company they are to work for! If you put in the hard work, you will be rewarded. I love to come into work every day because we do have such a good team.
What interesting characters have you worked with at Lingwood Security Management?
Everyone! Everyone has a good sense of humor and I don’t think Doc’s hints at brews will never not be funny.
What do you think will change at Lingwood Security Management over the next five years, or in the industry as a whole?
I believe Lingwood Security will continuing thriving in current contracts and gain more over the next few years. I am not sure on what will change.
If you weren't working at Lingwood Security Management, what would you be doing instead, or what would your life be like?
I can’t say, I probably would be working full-time and trying to build myself up to be better.
How would someone describe you?
I would say friendly and quiet. I’m not quiet once you know me and Summer knows that!
What do you do when you aren't working?
I like to keep active, so I walk a lot and do work outs. I also love to go to festivals in the summer with my friends.
